Body plastic surgery

Body plastic surgery is an opportunity to correct acquired or inherited aesthetic imperfections, regaining quality of life and self-confidence. The specialists at the Dermatology Clinic can help you achieve a harmonious silhouette, restore the contours of your body after pregnancy or rapid weight loss, and make corrections to turn your dream body into a reality. Body plastic surgery is nowadays as gentle and quick as possible. A specialist consultation is required before any plastic surgery. The plastic surgeon will help you choose the most suitable type of surgery, explain the manipulation process and assess the patient's suitability for surgery.

Breast plastic surgery

Breast plastic surgery, more specifically breast augmentation, is the most popular type of plastic surgery in Latvia. Breast shape and size correction may be necessary for various reasons - too small or large breasts may cause emotional discomfort, back pain may develop due to strain, breasts may change shape after breastfeeding and with ageing, breast reconstruction may be necessary after medical manipulation or trauma. Breast reconstruction can help to improve a woman's self-confidence and harmonious proportions by correcting breast size or symmetry, restoring breast shape and firmness. The rehabilitation period after a breast lift is approximately 4-6 weeks.

  • Breast augmentation

Breast augmentation is the most sought-after type of breast surgery. The specialists at the Dermatology Clinic use the latest generation of breast implants - available in different coatings, materials and shapes to suit each woman's anatomical characteristics and preferences to create a naturally beautiful and harmonious effect. Using modern breast implants and surgical techniques, breast augmentation creates an effect that is both natural and impressive.

  • Breast reduction (reduction mammoplasty)

During the surgery, the mammary glands and fatty tissue are reduced, excess skin is excised and the breast areolas are repositioned to fit the new shape. The result is a breast size that fits the proportions of the body. This not only reduces aesthetic discomfort, but also improves physical well-being (reducing back pain caused by strain). If the woman intends to breastfeed her children, the surgery is recommended to be performed after this period..

  • Breast lift (mastopexy)
A breast lift is performed when the breasts are drooping, preserving the volume of the tissue. This most often happens after pregnancy or significant weight loss. The operation restores the shape of the breasts but does not change their size. A breast lift can be combined with breast augmentation or reduction surgery

Correction of enlarged male mammary glands (gynaecomastia)

Gynaecomastia restores the contour of the male breast and corrects deformities of the breast, nipple and areola. During this surgery, the breast glandular tissue is reduced. The operation is performed under general anaesthesia. Duration is 1-1.5 h

Abdominal skin tightening (abdominoplasty)

Abdominoplasty is performed to restore the appearance of a smooth, flat abdomen by improving and firming the shape of the anterior abdominal wall. Abdominoplasty can be performed to correct muscular diastasis, as well as to remove subcutaneous fat and excess, stretched skin. Abdominoplasty may be necessary after pregnancy or after significant weight loss, when the abdominal skin has become saggy and cannot be corrected by the procedure.

The surgery is performed under general anaesthesia. It lasts 2-3 h. The rehabilitation period after surgery is about 4-6 weeks.

Liposuction

Liposuction can be used in any area of the body where unwanted fat deposits need to be removed to correct body shape: face, abdomen, flanks, back, buttocks, legs (thighs, tip area, knees, lower legs, ankles), above the breasts/under the arms, reducing breast obesity in men.  The surgery is performed under local or general anaesthesia. Duration is 0.5-2 h. The rehabilitation period after surgery is approximately one month.

Miniliposuction for stem cell isolation from adipose tissue

During miniliposuction, a small amount of fat is most often suctioned from the abdominal area. From this adipose tissue, stem cells are extracted. Stem cells ensure the constant renewal of the body and can, under certain conditions, be directed towards the production of specialised cells. This regenerative potential is used in dermatology, plastic surgery, arthritis, diabetes, psoriasis, joint injuries, fibrosis of lung tissue, neurodegenerative diseases, etc. The resulting stem cells can be stored for a long time under the right conditions.

The manipulation is performed under local anaesthesia.

Lipofilling

Lipofilling is performed in areas that lack the volume created by fat deposits, for example when the attractive roundness of the face has been lost or to correct the volume of the breasts and buttocks. Lipofilling can be used to fill in wrinkles and correct sunken or deep scars. The fat required for lipofilling is obtained from the patient by liposuction. The resulting fat is specially processed and injected into the target area.

Skin tightening of the inner surface of the upper arm (brachioplasty)

Brachioplasty removes sagging or excess skin and excises fatty tissue, improving and firming the shape of the upper arm.

The operation is performed under general anaesthesia. Duration is 1-1.5 h

Skin tightening of the inner surface of the upper leg (cruroplasty)

A cruroplasty improves and strengthens the shape of the thigh. During the surgery, sagging skin is removed, fat and excess skin on the thighs is excised.

The operation is performed under general anaesthesia. Duration is 1-1.5 h

Correction of the labia minora (labioplasty)

Reduction of the size or length of the labia minora.

The aim of the surgery: to eliminate discomfort during daily activities.

The operation is performed under general or spinal anaesthesia and lasts 1 h

Too large or disproportionate labia minora spoil the quality of life for many women. If the labia minora are enlarged and located outside the labia majora, they can interfere with a number of hobbies, restrict sporting activities, can be easily traumatised, abraded, not to mention a woman's emotional experiences and discomfort in her intimate life. Aesthetic surgery offers a good opportunity for women to remedy this defect and improve their well-being and comfort.
During surgery, the size and, if necessary, the proportions of this organ are corrected. After the operation, you should observe special hygiene, take regular showers, use mild antiseptics and soft panty liners. The operated area will be sensitive when sitting for 3-4 days. The sutures will be removed after 10 days. You should refrain from sports, swimming, bathing and sauna for at least 2-3 weeks. You should also refrain from intimate relations for about 2-3 weeks. No scarring or sensitivity is affected.

Scar correction

Scar correction surgery not only improves the appearance of the scar, but also improves mobility if the scar tissue interferes with it. Depending on the type of scar, it is removed by excision of the scar tissue, skin grafting or stretching.

The operation is performed under local or general anaesthesia. It lasts up to 1 h.
